Dennis has been a valuable asset to the Tallmadge community, dedicating his years of service to improving the lives of its residents.
As Director of Public Service, Dennis was responsible for managing a significant portion of the city's budget and workforce. This included overseeing vital departments such as the Street Department, Water Department, Parks and Recreation, Planning and Zoning, and Cemetery.
Dennis is an active member of Tallmadge Primetimers and has played a key role in shaping the Senior Needs Committee. He helped to reestablish the Tallmadge Ministerial Association and is a strong advocate for aging in place, supporting initiatives such as the Senior Community Policing program and the Silver Sneakers program at our Recreation Center.
As a respected business leader, Dennis brought valuable expertise to his role as the City's Economic Developer. He was involved in a number of important initiatives, including Tallmadge Grow (CIC), Income Tax and Property Tax abatement, Commercial and Residential Development, Historic District, Planning and Zoning, Comprehensive Plan, JEDD, Brimfield ED, Portage Development Board, Tallmadge Chamber, and Greater Akron Chamber CIC.
Dennis recognizes the importance of community input and believes that the development of vacant residential lands will play a critical role in shaping the future of our city. He is committed to making decisions that reflect the needs and interests of our residents.
As a former School Board member for 11 years, Dennis understands the critical role that education plays in building a strong community. He is passionate about supporting the school district and has worked tirelessly to ensure that it remains a cornerstone of our city.
Dennis's commitment to faith is also evident in his work with the Tallmadge Ministerial Association and his support of church expansion projects. He has been an active member of the committee responsible for reducing the size of the Tallmadge Historic District while improving the approval process for new businesses seeking to join our community. His contributions have helped attract substantial investment to the Circle, the District, and the J.E.D.D.
